Great Run 15K & 5K fun run
Events dated for 18th December 2010
Great Run Race, a road running race that has attracted hundreds of athletes from across the country each year. The event, which aims to raise funds for the development of athletes from historically disadvantaged communities, will start and finish at Voortrekker monument in Pretoria
The race will once again consist of two distances, allowing for athletes from all walkers for life to enter. Whilst the 15K race starts at 06:30am, a 5km fun run will start at 06:45am.
There'll be R6 500 in prize monies to be won. A medal will also be given to each athlete that completes the race.
Why to run Great Run race
There are four historical landmarks in Pretoria
Great Run is the only race in Gauteng province to run through three historical landmarks
- Fort Schranskop build in 1897 (Start & finish)
- Voortrekker Monument
- Freedom Park
Great Run is the only race in Gauteng to have combined Afrikaners and Africans landmarks together to be one in a road running race.

How to enter
Entry forms for all mentioned races can be acquired from The Sweat Shops in Irene, Dunkeld and Fourways Crossing, Running Inn, Run-Away Sport (Pretoria), and Varsity Sports (Hatfield); as well as Sportsman’s Warehouse stores in Centurion, Atterbury Value Mart, Woodmead and Fourways Crossing. One can also enter on-line at www.enteronline.co.za. On-line entries will however close on friday December 17th.
The entry fee for licensed athletes is R40 for the 15K whilst the entry fee for unlicensed athletes is R60 for the 15K race. Entry into the 5km fun run is R20.
Late entries will be taken on the day of the race at no additional cost. Entry tables will open from 4am.
