Athletics Gauteng North, will be having their council meeting and will be electing new board member.

 It is said that it will be a very much contested with respect to provincial presidency.  

 

ASA president

James Evans received the most votes and has been elected as the new president for Athletics South Africa (ASA) during the elections held on July 30, 2011 at the Garden Court hotel OR Tambo.

At the same time, Motlatsi Keikabile (Athletics North West) got elected as the new vice-president of ASA. She received 26 votes.

It remains to be seen what new developments will they bring in taking athletics forward.

Richard Stander’s take on motion presented to ASA

Boland CEO told Great Run Inc. that motion been presented to ASA provinces by Western Cape athletics president James Evans which states that lotto board member should cease from serving ASA management will not pass. “Think about it for a moment, all other sports codes football, cricket, rugby has got their board members serving on other companies as boards members, why is not allowed in athletics?” Stander said. July 30, Athletics South Africa will be having council meeting to elect president and deputy president in Kempton Park. It remains to be seen who comes out a winner.

It has been said that many of the affiliated provinces president are all vying for the president post and who will be supporting who remains unknown.
